Family photography is memorable. It lasts a lifetime. It helps capture the memories, personalities, and unique attributes of a group that are tied together via genetics and DNA. Family photographers work to capture each individual's personality and characteristics - crafting a visual representation that binds the group into a seamless expression that's exhibited through a single or, collection of photographs.
The goal of family photography is to ensure the group's faces and expressions are the predominant features within the image. Getting these various individuals to work in concert with one another is where a skilled photographer's expertise shines. When it comes together, the results of a well designed family photography image can be impressive.

Initial Consultation
When you inquire about our family portraits, we like to come to your home and meet in person whenever possible. This way we can get to know each other, explain the process and scope out potential in-house photography locations. We can also explore ideas for outdoor photos at a nearby park or beach. We also want you to be completely familiar with our method so you understand what to expect every step of the way.
The Portrait Session
From the initial consultation we’ll have figured out a time and place for the shoot to take place. We’ll spend an hour or two walking around and shooting in different environments and exploring different poses and groupings. This is always a lot of fun, and the more you’re willing to listen to our crazy ideas, the more amazing the photos tend to get!
The Viewing
After the files are edited and polished, we will schedule an appointment with you and present the photos on a large screen for your viewing pleasure. We will present only the best photos from the session so you’re not overwhelmed with too many choices. We’ll help you narrow down which photos you want, often using available space on your walls to figure out the best sizes to suit your needs. The same photos will be available for print orders online for two weeks after the in-house viewing to accommodate friends and family that can’t make it to the viewing session.
What You Get
Our goal is to get beautiful family portraits on your walls. We know the files are still important to our clients, so we include a digital file* with every print you order (must be the same image as the print). In the end, you’ll receive beautiful prints and/or stretched canvas works of art as well as the files that are most important to you.
*We provide a medium-resolution digital version of each print you order. The pixel dimensions are 900 pixels by 600 pixels, and are great for sharing on Facebook or emailing to friends and family.
